The Kennedy Center is the nation's busiest performing arts center, hosting approximately 2,000 performances each year for audiences numbering more than 2 million. We are seeking a Graphic Designer to join our team!<br /><br />The Graphic Designer will design and provide production services for materials developed in the Advertising Department, including print advertising, stuffers, signage, and other printed materials as required by the Kennedy Center.<br /><br /><strong>Duties and Responsibilities:</strong><br /> <ul> <li>60% Performing production work by using templates to create weekly ads, program stuffers, and signage.</li> <li>35% Creating designs on computer for other collateral materials such as postcards, posters, and fliers, as required. </li> <li>5% Attending weekly production meetings and keeping project statuses up-to-date in Robohead.</li> <li>Completing work according to deadlines and priorities set by the Advertising Services Manager, the Manager, Advertising Design and the Assistant Manager, Advertising Production; responds to the needs and requests of Kennedy Center management and staff in a professional and expedient manner; adheres to all employer policies and procedures; other duties as assigned.</li> </ul> <br /><br /><strong>Key Qualifications: </strong><br /> <ul> <li>You have a Bachelor's degree or equivalent education in graphic/commercial art and at least 2 years of related professional experience.</li> <li>You have proficiency in desktop publishing software (Adobe Creative Suite–PhotoShop, Illustrator, InDesign) in a PC environment.</li> <li>You have a portfolio that demonstrates your ability and experience.</li> <li>You are proficient in layout and design and computer-generated artwork production and have working knowledge of four-color printing process.</li> </ul> <br /><br /><strong>Who You Are:</strong><br /> <ul> <li>You are able to handle multiple assignments under the pressure of tight deadlines.</li> <li>You are detail-oriented and organized.</li> <li>You are able to follow creative direction, and are conscientious about following purchasing and routing procedures and taking instructions for edits and changes.</li> </ul> <br /><br /><strong>Physical Demands:</strong><br /><br />While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to communicate in person and on the telephone. The employee is frequently required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel in order to operate computer keyboard, office equipment, and other essential tasks. The employee is frequently required to sit, stand, walk, bend, stoop, crouch, and reach with hands and arms. This position infrequently lifts, carries, or otherwise moves and positions objects weighing up to 25 pounds.<br /><br /><strong>Work Environment:</strong><br /><br />The noise level in the work environment is low.<br /><br />No travel is required. <br /><br /><strong>The John F.
