Job Title: Payroll Specialist
Duration: 6+ Months
Location: Sunnyvale, CA
Process semi-monthly payroll for exempt employees and bi-weekly payroll for non-exempt employees in multi-state environment Process and review new hires, LOA’s, terminations, payroll file maintenance changes and deductions Process pay data batches in ADP (commissions, bonus, pro-rate new hire pays, spot bonus, time batches for hourly and salaried employees, special pays and severance) Process wage garnishment Responsible for the coordination efforts between Human Resources, Benefits and other departments to ensure proper flow and maintenance of employee data
Maintain accurate payroll information in ADP System Prepare funding and reporting for 401k contributions and ESPP deduction reconciliation Responsible for monthly journal entry preparation and account reconciliations for all payroll related accounts Troubleshoot problems with pay checks, tax deductions, timecard issues, and other payroll-related matters and respond accordingly to inquiries.
Respond to questions from employees regarding pay checks, direct deposit and/or general payroll questions, and handle escalated payroll matters from HR and other internal departments Demonstrate continuous effort to improve operations, streamline work processes, and work cooperatively and jointly to provide high-quality customer service Assist with integration of newly acquired business units.
Provide reports to HR, accounting and Tax department.
Ensure Sox compliance regarding payroll processes Assist with implementation of new ADP WFN Payroll systems. Perform other job-related duties, as required
Demonstrate knowledge of multi-state and Federal Labor laws, pay practices and policies Solid understanding of payroll operations including transactions such as 401K compensation and contribution funding and limits, incentive/bonus/benefit offerings, multistate payroll regulations, etc.
Strong understanding of fundamental accounting A strategic planner with sound technical skills, analytical ability, good judgment and strong operational focus Ability to work independently and to carry out assignments to completion within parameters of instructions given Must be able to work under pressure and meet deadlines, while maintaining a positive attitude and providing exemplary customer service.

Experience with Excel, including formulas, v-look up, and linked spreadsheets Experience managing and maintaining the integrity of confidential information.
Robust problem-solving skills with the ability to sort through issues to create and recommend improvements ADP ProBusiness experience is a must
Minimum of 4-7 years of payroll experience Preferred experience with ADP ProBusiness, Workforce Now and SAP CPP preferred but not required bachelor s degree (Finance, Accounting, Business or a related field) or equivalent experience
