Job Description and Duties

Note: New to state civil service employees will be hired at the minimum of the salary range.

Under the regular supervision of the Assistant Chief Counsel and in coordination with and guidance from lead attorney(s), the incumbent in this position will primarily serve the Human Resources Division (HRD), the Division of Codes and Standards (DCS), and the Equal Employment Office (EEO). The incumbent advises these various divisions, both orally and in written opinions, and represents the Department in formal administrative law actions, informal hearings and depositions, and assists the Office of the Attorney General in representing the Department in civil litigation. This position requires significant independence and skills in administrative law, employment law, housing law and civil litigation.
