This experience includes activities such as: performing a wide variety of administrative functions including serve as the primary point of contact for a unit/division; organize and maintain electronic and hard copy files; develop and implement new systems/administrative processes to meet organizational needs; prepare time and attendance for unit/division staff; prepare and coordinate requests for personnel actions; coordinate and track purchasing/contract activities; use computers/software to develop correspondence, spreadsheets, etc. You must include hours per week worked.<br /><br /><strong>Volunteer Experience:</strong> Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. The park, consisting of 8,677 acres, administers two of the most historically significant sites in English North America. Historic Jamestown, the first permanent English settlement in North America in 1607 and Yorktown Battlefield, the final major battle of the American Revolutionary War in 1781. These two sites represent the beginning and end of English colonial America, and are connected by the 23-mile scenic Colonial Parkway. Colonial NHP has a variety of natural resources including extensive wetlands, forest, fields, shorelines and streams, as well as rare, threatened and endangered plants and animals.
