Applicants that have previously applied NEED to re-apply to this announcement**<br /><br />You will serve as a LEAD CONTRACT SPECIALIST in the Procurement Branch (Code 411), Contracts Procurement Division (Code 410), Contracts Department (Code 400) of Mid-Atlantic Regional Maintenance Center (MARMC).<br /> Learn more about this agency <br /><br /><b>Responsibilities</b><br /><br /><ul> <li>You will develop contract strategy considering the availability of funds, extent of competition, urgency, delivery requirements, need for government furnished property/material, option requirements and other factors</li> <li>You will review specifications, "Statements of Work" and work packages to assure clarity, adequacy and completeness, and advise requiring activity when deficiencies are noted.</li> <li>You will identify, distribute, and balance workload and tasks among team members</li> <li>You will be negotiate and settle matters under dispute, claims arising under the contract, changes as result of waiver and deviations, and other changes in work scope.</li> </ul> <br /><br /><b>Travel Required</b><br /><br />Occasional travel – You may be expected to travel for this position.<br /><br />Supervisory status <br /> No <br /><br />Promotion Potential <br /> 13 <br /><br /></li> <b>Requirements</b><br /><br /><b>Conditions of Employment</b><br /><br /><ul> <li>Must be a US Citizen.</li> <li>Must be determined suitable for federal employment.</li> <li>Must participate in the direct deposit pay program.</li> <li>New employees to the Department of the Navy will be required to successfully pass the E-Verify employment verification check. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.</li> </ul> <br /><br /><b>Qualifications</b><br /><br />In addition to the Basic Requirements for this position, your resume must also demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-12 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. A bachelor's degree from an accredited educational institution authorized to grant baccalaureate degrees AND<br /> B. At least 24 semester hours in any combination of the following fields: accounting, business, finance, law, contracts, purchasing, economics, industrial management, marketing, quantitative methods, or organization and management. (This requirement can be obtained within the bachelor's degree or in addition to the degree.)<br /><br />NOTE: The education requirements listed above apply only to individuals entering DoD 1102 positions on or after October 1, 2000. Current civilian personnel in DoD, who occupied GS-1102 positions or contracting positions with authority to award or administer contracts above the simplified acquisition threshold in an Executive Department on or before September 30, 2000, are exempt from meeting this requirement.
