<b>Duties</b><br /><br /><b>Summary</b><br /><br />This position is located in the Department of Homeland Security (DHS), Office of the Chief Security Officer (OCSO)<br /><br />The primary purpose of this position is to apply management and executive-level knowledge to manage multiple projects relating to the substantive programs, goals, priorities, policies and commitments of the constituent divisions, the OCSO, and the DHS.<br /><br />Learn more about this agency <br /><br /><b>Responsibilities</b><br /><br />In this position, you will be responsible for performance management and reporting, schedule/tasks management, special projects planning and oversight and portfolio management.<br /> Your assignments include: <ul> <li>Conducts short and long-term planning to evaluate the actual and potential risks to the Department, and the ways and means to manage risks.</li> <li>Develops project plans, directs preparation of project plans and test plans, coordinates plans with appropriate stakeholders, develops schedules, milestones and funding requirements documentation and long-range plans for improving the reliability of strategic approaches under development. Identifies and evaluates major programmatic issues that may require mitigation and planning, and develops proposals and recommendations to address them.</li> <li>Provides strategic direction and planning for the Threat Management Operations. Maintains awareness of, and information about the overall status of financial resources, performs cost analyses and funding requirements for enhancements to the Threat Management Operations.</li> <li>Ensures that strategic and operational mandates for DHS are optimally performed, to include identifying areas for performance measurement and quality improvement and leading strategic development and administration of quality assurance activities throughout the OCSO. Works with the Chief Security Officer (CSO) to establish annual Threat Management Operations strategies, goals and objectives.</li> <li>Evaluates and oversees the development, implementation and coordination of policies, programs and operations for agency program officials.
