<b>Duties</b><br /><br /><b>Summary</b><br /><br /><strong>THIS IS A NATIONAL GUARD TITLE 32 EXCEPTED SERVICE POSITION.</strong><br /><br />This National Guard position is for a <strong>Logistics Management Specialist</strong>, Position Description Number <strong>D2195000</strong>and is part of the Maryland National Guard.<br /><br />Learn more about this agency <br /><br /><b>Responsibilities</b><br /><br />As a Logistics Management Specialist, GS-0346-07, you will perform in support of the overall work of the organization. Duties are selected to broaden skills and provide practical experience for progressively more complex assignments. Perform assigned portions of technical projects using established criteria or specifications; evaluates projects for compliance with specifications or for evaluation in term of operational use; reviews technical aspects of applications or proposed plans for compliance with laws, regulations, standards, specifications, or other requirements. Perform administrative duties such as gathering and reviewing of narrative and/or statistical data to prepare reports, and conducting analyses of data to support conclusions or recommendations for action. Exercises knowledge and application of Department of Army (DA), Defense Logistics Agency (DLA), National Guard Bureau (NGB), and ARNG directive, polices procedures, subsistence handling, storage, and sanitation methodology, plus food prime vendor food service ordering system, in addition to basic subsistence accounting procedures. Provide technical liaison service to each ARNG unit, prime vendor, and other vendor companies. Provides subsistence support for troop movements, maneuvers, and emergency and contingency plan requirements, in addition to normal daily support. Serves as the Contracting Officer Representative and submits technical specifications of contract requirements for commercial vendors when providing meal support. This is an excepted service position that requires membership in a compatible military assignment in the employing state's National Guard. Experience using computer and automation systems.<br /><br /><strong> SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE : </strong>Must have at least 12 months experience, education, or training involving knowledge of organizations and their functions in logistical support. Experience integrating actions of support activities to meet program goals. Experience working with people from various levels and backgrounds to elicit their cooperation to perform specific tasks and comply with regulations, laws or practices. <br /><br /><b>Education</b><br /><br />Substitution of Education for Specialized Experience – Successful completion of a full 4-year course of study in any field leading to a bachelor's degree, in an accredited college or university, meets the GS-5 level requirements.<br /><br />You must provide transcripts or other documentation to support your Educational claims.
