<b>Duties</b><br /><br /><b>Summary</b><br /><br />The Administrative Assistant will serve the Director of the Multi-Door Dispute Resolution Division of the District of Columbia Superior Court. The incumbent is responsible for the administrative functions of the Office of the Director and the coordination of communications for the activities of the division. The incumbent will stay abreast of policy decisions, current activities, and various program developments in the DC Courts in order to assist and inform the Director. <br /><br />Learn more about this agency <br /><br /><b>Responsibilities</b><br /><br /><ul> <li>Courteously receives and announces callers and visitors, including government officials, judges of the DC Court of Appeals and Superior Court, and representatives of the DC government</li> <li>Uses tact, judgment, and discretion in furnishing or releasing information; making commitments; and determining which visitors should be referred to the Multi-Door Branch Chiefs or to other divisions within the courts</li> <li>Independently follows up on actions needed as a result of personal or telephone contact, and monitors and tracks the status of requests on behalf of the division</li> <li>Manages the Director's calendar, and when requested the Deputy Director's calendar, by coordinating and scheduling meetings with court staff, judges and visitors</li> <li>Tracks budget and funding for the division through monthly analysis of expenses and budget</li> <li>Obtains and reviews monthly financial summary reports and submits to the Director for review</li> <li>Maintains supply inventory by checking stock to determine inventory level; anticipating needed supplies; placing and expediting orders for supplies and verifying receipt of supplies</li> <li>Ensures that all outgoing correspondence for the signature of the Director or Deputy Director conforms to established standards</li> <li>Distributes all incoming correspondence</li> <li>Proofs, copies and distributes all office memorandum and letters prepared by the Director and Deputy Director</li> </ul> <br /><br /><b>Travel Required</b><br /><br />Not required<br /><br />Supervisory status <br /> No <br /><br />Promotion Potential <br /> 10 <br /><br /></li> <b>Requirements</b><br /><br /><b>Conditions of Employment</b><br /><br /><ul> <li>Background and security investigation are required. </li> <li>A probationary period of one (1) year must be successfully completed.</li> </ul> <br /><br />To qualify for this position, you must submit the following: <br />1.
