Job Location – Secaucus, NJ
The Sr. Project Manager at Quest Diagnostics is responsible for managing projects to successful and timely decision points. The role contributes to the definition of project strategy from ideology stage to project completion and service delivery. The role guides the project core and sub teams to deliver on project objectives, on-time and within budget. This role will be a member of the IT PMO Organization.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Must have recent work experience as a Project Manager in a Lab, biotech or pharma company managing development and or IT projects.
Strong Proficiency with project management practices, tools and methodology.
Financial acumen with capability to plan and oversee project budgets.
Exceptional leadership, interpersonal communications, investigative, negotiation, collaboration, and virtual management skills. Comfortable leading project teams across multiple locations and time zones.
Communicates effectively with and influences all levels of the organization.
Requires excellent internal and external collaboration, influencing skills, and the ability to lead diverse cross-functional, virtual teams.
Establish and maintain functionally integrated project schedules to enable accurate project, financial and portfolio analyses and ensure accurate inputs are provided into business planning processes.
Ensure alignment with project sub-teams and functional partners.
Oversee and prepare project team budget including resources and costs, collaborating with Finance and other cross-functional departments.
Facilitates project team meetings, cross-functional communication and decision making, ensuring alignment with internal and external stakeholders.
Communicate, document and archive project team activities and decisions. Act as primary contact for project team related information.

Experience with conduction high level requirements, formulating level of effort (LOE), resourcing plans
Ability to conduct peer audit reviews
Ability to manage resources
Lead core project team(s) depending on size and scope of project(s) ensuring effective cross functional teamwork among project team members including both internal and external stakeholders.
The PM job duties may be performed in collaboration with a SR. Program Manager and/or Sr. Program Manager
Provide project focus leadership across Quest Diagnostics departments, offices, external vendors and clients to deliver corporate and department objectives.
Monitor project scope, schedule and costs to ensure all remain on track
Proactively utilize both quality control and risk management activities to ensure project deliverables are met according to regulatory, client and Quest Diagnostics requirements
Proactively manage and communicate variance to project plans and revise as necessary
Produce metrics and status reports
Aid in the development and maintenance of key project performance indicators
Collaborate with finance to initiate monthly invoicing as assigned
Initiate improvements to enhance the efficiency and quality of the work performed
Present at external and/or internal meetings as required
Demonstrated ability to inspire effective teamwork and motivate staff within a matrix system

BA/BS in Life Sciences, IT or equivalent is a must.
PMP (Project Management Professional) Certification or equivalent
Advanced business degree desired.
– 5 to 10+ years of multi-disciplinary experience in Lab, biotech or Hi-tech industries.
– Minimum 5 years of direct project management experience
– Experience using Project Management software (Clarity, Jira, Rally) to manage complex project timelines and resources.
– Strong PC experience and demonstrated proficiency in MS Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint and MS Project).
– PMP (Project Management Professional) Certification or equivalent
