<b>Duties</b><br /><br /><b>Summary</b><br /><br />This position is located in the Manufacturing Business Unit, Office of Production Management, Manufacturing Planning division. The division has responsibility for the planning of circulating and numismatic coinage production; coordination of US Mint activities with those of the Federal Reserve System to supply the nation with sufficient coinage; development of programs designed to control and manage the production and distribution of circulating coinage.<br /><br />Learn more about this agency <br /><br /><b>Responsibilities</b><br /><br />This opportunity is also open to Status eligibles under Announcement 19-MINT-346. Please refer to that announcement for details on open period, eligibility, and how to apply.<br /><br />As a Production Planning & Control Specialist, you will:<br /> <ul> <li>Plan, coordinate, and evaluate the logistical actions required to support circulating coinage and/or numismatic products production.</li> <li>Maintain critical production information which includes: finished products and coin inventories, current and historical production figures, work in process, and production reports necessary to the daily management of numismatic coin production.</li> <li>Develop raw material and component requirements, monitor inventories, and interface with the Supply Management group to coordinate requirements and schedule deliveries. These requirements include migrating current planning methods and functions into the Mint's ERP planning system.</li> <li>Provide logistical and plan support for Mint wide initiatives to improve the Mint's ability to respond to customer requirements, initiate just in time inventory strategies with its raw materials and work in process, more effectively produce numismatic products, reduce waste and error coins, and streamline the entire coin production and distribution process.</li> </ul> <br /><br /><b>Travel Required</b><br /><br />Occasional travel – 1 to 5 nights per month<br /><br />Supervisory status <br /> No <br /><br />Promotion Potential <br /> 13 <br /><br /></li> <b>Requirements</b><br /><br /><b>Conditions of Employment</b><br /><br /><ul> </ul> <br /><br />The experience may have been gained in either the public or private sector or volunteer service . To ensure full credit for your work experience, please indicate dates of employment by month/day/year, and indicate number of hours worked per week on your résumé.<br /><br /><b>Qualifications</b><br /><br />You must meet the following requirements by the closing date of this announcement.<br /><br /><strong>Specialized experience:</strong> For the GS-13, you must have one year of specialized experience at a level of difficulty and responsibility equivalent to the GS-12 grade level in the Federal service.
