The Director, WW Privacy Counsel will focus on conducting in-house privacy counseling and compliance work with the VP and SVP to advise the business teams on global data protection, privacy issues and build upon and assume responsibility for the company’s compliance with global privacy standards, by implementing proactive privacy management, through Herbalife Nutrition’s developed privacy vision, mission statement and defined worldwide privacy program scope and identify legal and regulatory compliance challenges, including the company’s personal information legal requirements.



  • Advising business clients on day-to-day privacy compliance issues of US and global data protection laws, including General Data Protection Regulation, Binding Corporate Rules, and US State Privacy Laws, including HIPAA, GLBA, COPPA, FCRA, TCPA, CAN-SPAM and Unfair and Deceptive Trade Practices. with an emphasis on internal operations and initiatives
  • Advising business regarding data collection, use and management in compliance with applicable policies, legal requirements and industry best practices
  • Partner with business teams on the launch of new products, services, and marketing initiatives to ensure a privacy-by-design strategy is adopted
  • Provide counsel on the privacy implications of Company’s internal information technology infrastructure and external web platforms and mobile applications
  • Advising business on privacy compliance for communications activities including email, and text messaging
  • Draft and maintain internal and external privacy policies/notices that accurately reflect how personal information is handled
  • Managing privacy compliance for Human Resources activities and employee data
  • Assisting in management of international data transfer requirements related to above activities
  • Negotiating and drafting privacy and security provisions for agreements related to the above activities; including vendor agreements for technology software and services and payment services
  • Providing legal support for Information Security function and assisting with data privacy aspects of Incident Management Program
  • Develop and implement Company and Member privacy trainings that educate parties on their responsibilities with respect to personal information
  • Assist the VP, WW Privacy, with managing departmental & regional compliance with the global privacy program and annual audits of the same



  • Highly-developed interpersonal and communication skills, known in industry for privacy-related expertise
  • Ability to train and interact effectively at all levels with sensitivity to cultural diversity
  • Skilled in cultivating an environment where employees respect and adhere to company standards of integrity and ethics
  • Expertise in US and international privacy and security laws, regulations, frameworks, and best practices
  • Demonstrated ability in implementing global privacy programs like the GDPR 
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills to interact with senior management and Members
  • In-depth understanding of how to conduct thorough investigative research, possessing deep fact-finding skills and information analysis, and accurately relate details
  • Ability to solve practical problems and organize workload for effective implementation of new rules and processes
  • Proven ability to perform efficiently under varied timelines in a fast-paced environment

  • 7+ years of experience as an attorney
  • 5+ years of experience in privacy compliance
  • 3+ years of management responsibility
  • Transactional experience; including technology experience
  • Experience with reporting and communication at all levels


  • Bachelor’s Degree
  • Juris Doctorate
  • Member of California bar or other U.S. state bar


  • CIPP/US, CIPP/E and/or CIPM certification
  • Strong academic record from top tier law school
  • Experience in a customer service-oriented environment
