<b>Duties</b><br /><br /><b>Summary</b><br /><br />This position is located in the Department of Health And Human Services, Office of the Secretary of Health and Human Services, Office of Emergency Management, located in Washington, District of Columbia.<br /><br /><b> **This announcement will be open for 5 business days OR until the first 100 applications have been received, whichever happens first.** </b><br /><br />Learn more about this agency <br /><br /><b>Responsibilities</b><br /><br /><ul> <li>Serves as subject matter expert adviser to the Division Chief and assigned to an Incident Command System (ICS) role before, during, and after a public health emergency response to include providing personnel and assets as needed to supplement State and local medical resources during an actual or perceived public health emergency response.</li> <li>Provides fully integrated operational planning, assessment, coordination and advisory services for a wide variety of complex interrelated issues regarding operational readiness.</li> <li>Provides leadership in the coordination, activation, deployment and demobilization of the response team and specialty teams, personnel, and assets to the incident scene.</li> <li>Determines the need for written procedures, overseeing the development of procedural documents,and reviewing and recommending approval upon completion.</li> </ul> <br /><br /><b>Travel Required</b><br /><br />75% or less – You may be expected to travel for this position.<br /><br />Supervisory status <br /> No <br /><br />Promotion Potential <br /> 13 <br /><br /></li> <b>Requirements</b><br /><br /><b>Conditions of Employment</b><br /><br /><ul> <li>U.S. Citizenship required</li> <li>Registered or exempt from Selective Service (www.sss.gov)</li> <li>If not previously completed, a background security investigation will be required for all appointees. Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to gain employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
