<b>Duties</b><br /><br /><b>Summary</b><br /><br />The Congressional Research Service (CRS) Office of Congressional Information and Publishing (CIP) is seeking a User Support Specialist to join its Publishing and Editorial Section (PUB). <br />PLEASE NOTE: This is NOT a hardware support position.<br /><br />Learn more about this agency <br /><br /><b>Responsibilities</b><br /><br />The User Support Specialist will provide publication support to CRS staff in using its customized Microsoft Word- and XML-based Authoring and Publishing (A&P) system to prepare CRS products (e.g., reports and memos); provide user and training support on using the A&P system and its Authoring tool as well as the features of related software applications such as Word, Excel, and PowerPoint; provide graphics support to modify and/or create charts, graphs, and other forms of visual communications; provide software testing and system documentation support in the maintenance and use of the A&P system and select native Microsoft software applications; and provide data conversion support to convert legacy documents to the Word A&P format. The selectee also will coordinate with other CRS colleagues to plan for the development of a next-generation, web-based integrated research information system to replace the current A&P platform.<br /><br />CRS works exclusively for the United States Congress, providing policy and legal analysis to committees and Members of both the House and Senate, regardless of party affiliation.
