We are seeking a commercial lawyer who will play a lead role in negotiating partnership and customer agreements, modernizing our contract and legal operations through policy, technology, and process improvements, and providing timely, pragmatic, and innovative support to our finance, sales and marketing, and supply and comply business units.  

You will work closely with D&B’s sales organization, and collaborate with D&B experts in privacy, security, product, finance, and operations.  You will have client-facing responsibility for negotiating strategic alliance deals and customer contracts, large and small, spanning multiple industries.  The role will also involve thinking through and implementing ways to streamline contract processes.  

Key Responsibilities:  

  • Structure, negotiate and draft agreements, including customer agreements and alliance distribution agreements.  
  • Engage business colleagues and leaders, and work with cross-organizational stakeholders and decision makers with different geographical and operational responsibilities to achieve corporate objectives. 
  • Act as a business partner at the leadership level to advise on legal and regulatory issues affecting the business as they arise.
  • Drive consistency and coordination throughout the D&B legal department offices and markets across the globe.   

Key Requirements:  

  • 4-7 years of relevant law firm or in-house work experience.
  • Thorough knowledge of contract law, with strong working knowledge of related areas (e.g., intellectual property, privacy, and data security), as well as emerging IT, privacy and data industry trends.
  • You are results oriented, have commercial awareness, sound business judgment, and the ability to provide innovative business solutions to legal issues.
  • You are a strategic thinker, with the confidence to advise clients and business leaders on a wide range of matters.
  • Teamwork skills are a must; the person in this position must drive results by working closely with customer attorneys, procurement teams, internal clients, D&B subject matter experts, and the other members of the D&B legal team.
  • Ability to thrive and deliver in a highly demanding, innovative and constantly changing corporate and regulatory environment. 
  • JD from an ABA law school and admittance to practice in NJ or eligibility for limited license for in-house counsel under RULE 1:27-2is required.
