Job Description and Duties
Under the general direction of an Assistant Chief Counsel, the Attorney III works with broad discretion and minimum supervision to provide legal advice and assistance on the most complex or sensitive legal matters. The Attorney III will handle difficult state contracting and personnel matters and oversee the state’s statutory Intellectual Property Program. The Attorney III may act in a lead capacity but will not supervise other attorneys.
This position is designated under the Conflict of Interest Code. The position is responsible for making or participating in the making of governmental decisions that may potentially have a material effect on personal financial interests. The appointee is required to complete Form 700 within 30 days of appointment and once per year. Failure to comply with the Conflict of Interest Code requirements may void the appointment.
