<b>Duties</b><br /><br /><b>Summary</b><br /><br />As the User Experience Lead for OIT's Office of Strategy and Innovation, you will drive the creation of user experiences for innovative technology products. You'll be a key member of the Solutions Engineering (SE) team, which uses cloud, software-as-a-service, enterprise platforms and emerging technologies to design new solutions that advance the mission of the SEC. Our User Experience Lead role is a synthesis of Human Centered Design (HCD) and User Experience (UX) research and design.<br /> Learn more about this agency <br /><br /><b>Responsibilities</b><br /><br /><ul> <li>Planning and conducting user research, interviews, surveys, and workshops; formulating insights related to the synthesis of the research data. Understanding and balancing business requirements and any technical limitations;</li> <li>Translating insights into sitemaps, user flows, customer journey maps, wireframes, mockups and prototypes.</li> <li>Articulating value propositions for innovative and simple design concepts; demonstrating how they support the SEC mission. Helping define the ?minimum viable product? for new solutions;</li> <li>Working with the Solutions Engineering team to create tangible, compelling prototypes that confirm expected value, identify key requirements, and set the vision for digital products. Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.<br /><br /><strong>BASIC REQUIREMENT</strong>: Applicant must possess IT related experience demonstrating each of the four competencies: reviewing work to ensure it is in line with established standards or to identify deficiencies (Attention to Detail); collaborating with customers to identify their information technology needs or to resolve their hardware and software problems (Customer service); explaining technical information orally to non-technical audiences (Oral Communication); and evaluating alternatives to recommend solutions to hardware or software problems (Problem Solving).<br /><br /><strong>MINIMUM QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENT</strong>: In addition to meeting the basic requirement, applicants must also meet the minimum qualification requirement.<br /><br /><strong> SK-13: Applicant must have at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS/SK-12 level.
