Job Description Summary:
The Eversource Legal Department is seeking an attorney for a counsel position to join their team in their Berlin, Connecticut or Boston or Westwood, Massachusetts office. This position involves representation of Eversource’s interests in a variety of energy issues, projects and transactions, including representation in proceedings before or involving a variety of state and federal regulatory agencies.
Technical Knowledge/Skill: Skills should include (a) federal energy and transmission regulatory expertise, including experience with the New England and New York ISO rules and procedures, transmission rates, market rules, interconnection and power purchase agreements; and (b) experience with energy-related transactions, siting and permitting and/or renewable energy issues. Experience with procurement transactions, particularly IT related, will be considered a plus. The successful candidate must be self-motivated and be able to immediately assume an active caseload, working closely with other in-house legal resources, company management, and, in certain matters, outside counsel. Being a good team player, well-organized, and able to identify business-oriented solutions to complex legal problems are essential qualities to ensure success in this position. The candidate must also demonstrate excellent written and oral communications skills.
