As Compensation Analyst for The Washington Post's dynamic Human Resources department, you'll put your skills to work managing our day-to-day compensation processes and contributing to strategic-level programs designed to strengthen and enhance this critical function of our department. You'll assess, develop, implement and administer internally equitable and externally competitive base pay/variable pay programs. Why? Because a world-class organization like The Washington Post demands a world-class compensation program.<br /><br /><b>Alignment:</b><br /><ul><li>You can apply your exceptionally analytical skills when processing qualitative data (e.g., analyzing a job), as well as quantitative data (e.g., preparing a compensation trends analysis)</li><li>You possess an uncanny ability to make sense out of large amounts of information, connect all the dots, and take action resulting in immediate success</li><li>You like the details and have a knack for catching errors even while moving quickly and under deadline pressure</li><li>You have outstanding time management and organizational skills, allowing you to excel at working independently</li><li>You have proven success building relationships with employees, managers and executives throughout the organization</li><li>You are comfortable with change and enjoy reengineering processes to increase speed, efficiency, and effectiveness</li></ul><br /><br /><b>Responsibilities include:</b><br /><ul><li>Provide compensation consulting services to hiring managers, senior management, and HR team members including job design, evaluation, competitive market analysis, and internal pay equity</li><li>Maintain and optimize the online market-pricing tool (MarketPay) by monitoring integrations, resolving data issues, and managing vendor relationships</li><li>Participate in multiple salary surveys</li><li>Prepare compensation analyses and dashboards in Excel and HRIS (Workday)</li><li>Administer annual merit and bonus processes, including budgeting, HRIS configuration and optimization, and employee communications</li><li>Streamline and maintain compensation plans, processes, and transactions in Workday</li></ul><br /><br /><b>Requirements include:</b><br /><ul><li>Bachelor's degree and 3-5 years of experience in compensation, finance or data analytics</li><li>Proven knowledge of compensation practices, as well as state and federal laws</li><li>Prior experience managing compensation programs and data integrity</li><li>Advanced Excel skills, proficiency in Microsoft office</li><li>Excellent time management, project management communication skills</li><li>Strong attention to details</li><li>PHR, SPHR, CCP or advanced degree (desired)</li></ul>
