<b>Duties</b><br /><br /><b>Summary</b><br /><br />This position serves as the Real Estate Client Branch Chief. As such he/she serves as a supervisor and program expert in strategic communications? and develops, directs, and manages communications for the Real Estate Client Branch.<br /><br />Location of position: This position is located in the General Services Administration (GSA), Office of Strategic Communications (OSC), Corporate Communication Division. Real Estate Client Branch.<br /><br />Learn more about this agency <br /><br /><b>Responsibilities</b><br /><br />As a Supervisory Communications Specialist, you will serve as the supervisor and program expert in strategic communication to direct, develop, and manage communication. As chief of the Real Estate Client Branch, you will supervise communication professionals who support GSA's real estate line of business. You and your Branch will be responsible for analyzing and evaluating program needs, developing outreach strategies, and material, as well as organizing engagements and other public meetings to foster communication between GSA management and target audiences. <br /> <ul> <li>Serves as a first level supervisor providing technical and administrative supervision to subordinates and performing a range of supervisory responsibilities.</li> <li>Maintains contact with customers to monitor the quality of services provided, adjusting practices and procedures, as necessary, when service improvements are required. </li> <li>Manages a comprehensive communications program, including analyzing and evaluating program needs, developing outreach strategies, designing and developing communications products and materials, organizing meetings to foster two way communications between GSA management and target audiences, and developing strategic partnerships with other organizations.</li> <li>Serves as a program expert in business line communications, responsible for combination of writing and editing highly professional materials, both internally and externally, related to all articles, web content, formal presentations, communication plans, media advisories, newsletters, handbooks, brochures, high-level correspondence, reports, policy, position papers, presentations, supporting visual presentation materials, video scripts, and other publications. </li> <li>Assess and improve the effectiveness and management of OSC written communication initiative, processes and systems. </li> </ul> <br /><br /><b>Travel Required</b><br /><br />Occasional travel – Occasional travel may be required.<br /><br />Supervisory status <br /> Yes <br /><br />Promotion Potential <br /> 14 <br /><br /></li> <b>Requirements</b><br /><br /><b>Conditions of Employment</b><br /><br /><ul> <li>US Citizenship or National (Residents of American Samoa and Swains Island)</li> <li>Meet all eligibility requirements within 30 days of the closing date.</li> <li>Meet time-in-grade within 30 days of the closing date, if applicable</li> <li>Register with the Selective Service if you are a male born after 12/31/1959</li> <li>Direct Deposit of salary check to financial organization required.</li> </ul> <br /><br />If selected, you must meet the following conditions:<br /> <ul> <li><strong>Receive authorization from OPM on any job offer you receive, if you are or were (within the last 5 years) a political Schedule A, Schedule C or Non-Career SES employee in the Executive Branch.</strong></li> <li>Undergo and pass a background investigation (Tier 2 investigation level).</li> <li>Have your identity and work status eligibility verified if you are not a GSA employee.
