Overview

The Systems Analysis Senior will work in the Single Family BTO department of the Information Technology division at Freddie Mac as part of the SF Bulk and Integrated Systems team. This team supports over 40 Single Family business systems and applications. This position will act as a liaison between the business area and Single Family BTO.<br /><br /><strong>Your Work Falls into Three Primary Categories:</strong><br /><br /><strong>Project Delivery</strong> <br /> <ul> <li>Participating in the full life cycle of a project, which includes identification of detailed system requirements, design, development, testing and implementation.</li> <li>Writing system-level requirements per the selected methodology – functional process models, user stories, software requirement specifications.</li> <li>Reviewing technical designs to ensure accurate and complete translation of business requirements into detailed system level requirements</li> <li>Ability to elicit, analyze, document, and validate the system requirements (i.e., SRS) that support the business requirements (i.e., BRD) for the systems supported</li> <li>Experience with supporting projects using SDLC Methodology and/or Agile Methodology in a highly regulated environment</li> <li>Willingness to learn and adapt skillset and responsibilities towards our new Modern Delivery approach</li> </ul> <br /><strong>Functional Domain Expertise</strong> <br /> <ul> <li>Acting as liaison between the business area and technical team, as well as the subject matter expert for specific domains within the Single Family Bulk & Integrated Systems application area</li> <li>Analyzing business requirements to independently convert them into detailed system requirements and functional specifications</li> <li>Providing input into proposed solutions, identify impacts, risks and issues, and work with technical and business staff to implement proposed solutions</li> <li>Providing resolutions to an extensive range of complicated problems.</li> <li>Experience translating/explaining technical decisions/concepts into business terms</li> </ul> <br /><strong>Exhibit Solid and Effective Work Habits</strong><br /> <ul> <li>Prioritizing assignments and working independently to ensure work is completed on schedule, within budget, and meets customer expectations</li> <li>Ability to simultaneously work on multiple projects and initiatives</li> <li>A proactive self-starter who able to work both independently and within a collaborative team environment with minimal hand-holding and daily guidance</li> <li>Ability to effectively work with both technical staff (e.g., Tech Leads, Developers, and Test Analysts) and business process owners across multiple domains</li> <li>Ability to apply change management process and support fast-paced issue identification and resolution</li> <li>Strong analytical and process skills with the ability to schedule, coordinate, and lead internal requirements building and review sessions with both IT and business area staff.</li> <li>Excellent communication skills, both written and oral.</li> </ul> <br /><br /><b>Qualifications</b><br /><br /><strong>Qualifications</strong><br /> <ul> <li>Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, related field or equivalent work experience</li> <li>5-7 years work experience in Systems Analysis and Requirements Development (4+ years w/ a Master's Degree)</li> <li>Graduate degree or advanced studies</li> <li>Experienced with analytical tools; e.g. Doors and Version One</li> <li>Experience in MS Office Tools and UML, Visio and Axure</li> <li>Knowledge of SDLC and Agile Methodologies</li> <li>Knowledge of Freddie Mac's role in the Mortgage Industry and Loan Purchase Business Processes</li> <li>Technical understanding of a variety of technical platforms (e.g., mainframe, web, C/S, etc.)</li> <li>Understanding of DB platforms and query languages (e.g., SQL)</li> </ul> <br /><strong>Keys to Success in this Role</strong><br /> <ul> <li>Continued demonstration of all facets of a proficient Systems Analyst as you are the key person filling this role for our team.</li> <li>Good communication and team player.</li> <li>Proactive in nature with customer satisfaction as primary goal.</li> <li>Innovative in defining solutions, likes to take on challenges with calculated risk.</li> <li>Quick learner of new concepts (i.e., Modern Delivery) and tools.</li> <li>Not a just an Analyst who is an 'order taker', but an Analyst with a mindset to think holistically to define a reliable, flexible, and well performing system.</li> </ul> <br /><strong>Top 3 Personal Competencies to Possess: </strong><br /> <ul> <li>Customer Focus (Internal and External): Personally engage with customers to learn their needs</li> <li>Drive for Execution: Be accountable for strong individual and team performance</li> <li>Partnership: Build trust and strong partnerships through my own and my team's actions</li> </ul> <br /><br />Today, Freddie Mac makes home possible for one in four home borrowers and is one of the largest sources of financing for multifamily housing.
