The Eversource Legal Department is seeking a labor, employment and litigation counsel to join our team in the Boston office in Massachusetts.  This position involves representing Eversource in a variety of labor and employment litigation matters, including union representation and unfair labor practice proceedings before the NLRB, collective bargaining, grievance and arbitration proceedings, state and federal discrimination proceedings before administrative agencies (MCAD, EEOC, etc.) and in state and/or federal court, as well as counseling and providing relevant training on a broad range of labor and employment issues.  


Technical Knowledge/Skill:  Requires hands-on labor and employment and related litigation experience, including union election campaigns and related NLRB proceedings, collective bargaining negotiations, grievance and arbitration proceedings, unfair labor practice proceedings, drafting agency and court pleadings, drafting and arguing motions, preparing witnesses, as well as deposition and some trial/arbitration/hearing experience.  The successful candidate must be self-motivated and be able to immediately assume an active caseload, working closely with other in-house legal resources, company management, and, in certain matters, outside counsel.  Being a good team player, well-organized, and able to identify business-oriented solutions to complex legal problems are essential qualities to ensure success in this position.  The candidate must also demonstrate excellent written and oral communications skills. 

Education:  A Juris Doctorate degree from an accredited law school required.

Experience:  The successful candidate will have at least five (5) years of timely, relevant labor and employment law and related litigation experience.  

Bar Admissions:  Admission in good standing to the Massachusetts Bar required.  Admissions to the Connecticut and/or New Hampshire bars a plus.  As a condition of employment, Connecticut and New Hampshire house counsel admission will be required within three months.


Responding to emergency situations to meet customers’ needs is part of every employee’s role. If employed, you will be given an Emergency Restoration assignment.  This means you may be called to assist during an emergency outside of your normal responsibilities, work hours and location.
