Notice of Result letters will not be sent to applicants who respond to this flyer.<br /> Learn more about this agency <br /><br /><b>Responsibilities</b><br /><br /><ul> <li>You will serve as an engineering consultant with a great deal of independence in the resolution of complex quality assurance and maintenance related problems.</li> <li>You will develop curriculum items (presentation, content outlines, formative assessements, summative assessments, job aids, etc.) for Quality Assurance Officers Course (QAOC), Nuclear Propulsion Plant Planners Course (NPPPC), etc,</li> <li>You will develop and maintain all curriculum items in accordance with valid and effective instructional design criteria.</li> <li>You will provide technical assistance and recommendations to Fleet personnel in at least two of the following subject matter domans: technical work documents and records, material control, engineering drawings, valve maintenance and repair, etc.</li> <li>You will conduct research, analyze findings, and present accurate and effective recommended action as a result.</li> </ul> <br /><br /><b>Travel Required</b><br /><br />Occasional travel – You may be expected to travel for this position.<br /><br />Supervisory status <br /> No <br /><br />Promotion Potential <br /> 12 <br /><br /></li> <b>Requirements</b><br /><br /><b>Conditions of Employment</b><br /><br /><ul> <li>Must be a US Citizen.</li> <li>Must be determined suitable for federal employment.</li> <li>Must participate in the direct deposit pay program.</li> <li>New employees to the Department of the Navy will be required to successfully pass the E-Verify employment verification check. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.</li> <li>You will be required to successfully complete a pre-appointment physical examination</li> </ul> <br /><br /><b>Qualifications</b><br /><br />To qualify for the GS-12<br /> Your resume must also demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-11 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: Specialized Experience: 1. Advance experience in locating and applying promulgated technical requirements (e.g. reactor plant manuals, system manuals, component technical manuals, etc). 2. Experience with providing expert training and engineering support in at least two of the domans: technical work document and records, material control, engineering drawings, valve maintenance and repair, cleanliness, testing, mechnical joints, and fitting, plan conditions, primary valve operations, radiological controls, welding, Non-dstructive testing (NDT). 3. Experience with developing technical work documents and records for nuclear and propulsion plant maintenance actions. <br /><br />To qualify for the GS-09<br /> Your resume must also demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-07 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: Specialized Experience: 1. Experience utilizing nuclear engineering principles and theory. 2. Experience with providing training and engineering support in at least two of the domans: technical work document and records, material control, engineering drawings, valve maintenance and repair, cleanliness, testing, mechnical joints, and fitting, plan conditions, primary valve operations, radiological controls, welding, Non-dstructive testing (NDT). 3. Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. <br /><br /><b>Education</b><br /><br />Basic Requirements:<br /> A. Degree: Engineering. To be acceptable, the program must: (1) lead to a bachelor's degree in a school of engineering with at least one program accredited by ABET; or (2) include differential and integral calculus and courses (more advanced than first-year physics and chemistry) in five of the following seven areas of engineering science or physics: (a) statics, dynamics; (b) strength of materials (stress-strain relationships); (c) fluid mechanics, hydraulics; (d) thermodynamics; (e) electrical fields and circuits; (f) nature and properties of materials (relating particle and aggregate structure to properties); and (g) any other comparable area of fundamental engineering science or physics, such as optics, heat transfer, soil mechanics, or electronics.<br /> OR<br /> B. Combination of education and experience — college-level education, training, and/or technical experience that furnished (1) a thorough knowledge of the physical and mathematical sciences underlying engineering, and (2) a good understanding, both theoretical and practical, of the engineering sciences and techniques and their applications to one of the branches of engineering. The adequacy of such background must be demonstrated by one of the following:<br /> 1. Professional registration or licensure — Current registration as an Engineer Intern (EI), Engineer in Training (EIT)1, or licensure as a Professional Engineer (PE) by any State, the District of Columbia, Guam, or Puerto Rico. Absent other means of qualifying under this standard, those applicants who achieved such registration by means other than written test (e.g., State grandfather or eminence provisions) are eligible only for positions that are within or closely related to the specialty field of their registration. For example, an applicant who attains registration through a State Board's eminence provision as a manufacturing engineer typically would be rated eligible only for manufacturing engineering positions.<br /> 2.
