<b>Duties</b><br /><br /><b>Summary</b><br /><br /><strong>THIS IS A NATIONAL GUARD TITLE 32 EXCEPTED SERVICE POSITION.</strong><br /><br />This National Guard position is for a HR OFFICER (MILITARY), Position Description Number <strong>D2123000</strong> and is part of the VA 192 SUT SQ, National Guard.<br /><br />Learn more about this agency <br /><br /><b>Responsibilities</b><br /><br />As an HR Officer (Military), GS-0201-12, you will perform the below duties:<br /><br />Manages Force Support programs through subordinate supervisors and senior workers that supervise technical and administrative activities within organizational sub units. Assigns work based on consideration of project requirements, priorities, and functional unit responsibilities. Manages, directs, and administers military human resources and personnel programs for the assigned and supported organizations. Personnel programs include Recruiting and Retention, Installation Personnel Readiness, Officer Personnel Management, Enlisted Personnel Management, Military Personnel Data System (MILPDS), Military Personnel Section, Force Management, Career Development, Force Development. Acts as principal advisor to Wing and Group Commanders, Director of Staff, and A-TAG on interpretation, planning, and subsequent execution of published personnel directives/doctrines from Department of Defense (DoD), Department of the Air Force (OAF), MAJCOMs, and NGB. Responsible proponent for the implementation of all NGB,Air Reserve Personnel Center (ARPC), Air Force Personnel Center (AFPC), Air Expeditionary Force (AEF) Center, and Major Command Personnel regulations and policies pertinent to wing activities and requirements. Develops local instructions based on guidance derived from DoD, USAF, MAJCOMs and NGB regulations and statutory requirements. Provides leadership and guidance for the utilization of personnel resources and requirements. Performs strategic planning in support of wing long-range objectives. Oversees organizational preparation necessary to accomplish Force Support programs essential to daily operations and mission readiness. Plans and directs personnel mobilization and deployment activities through the Installation Personnel and Readiness office. To be considered as a Group II applicant, proof of appointment/enlistment in the Virginia National Guard must be attached if the appointment/enlistment occurred within 60 days prior to, or during, the advertisement period.<br /><br /><b>GROUP III </b>- Individuals eligible for membership in the Virginia Air National Guard.<br /><br /><strong>Military Grades</strong>: Commissioned Officers (O1/2LT – 04/MAJ)<br /><br /><strong>Compatible Military Assignments</strong>: 38F<br /><br /><strong> GENERAL EXPERIENCE </strong>: Must have at least one year of specialized experiences at the GS-11 level or the equivalent in personnel and manpower core competencies: Organization Structure, Requirement Determination, Program Allocation and Control, and/or Performance Improvement.<br /><br /><strong> SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE : </strong>Knowledge of all applicable merit principles and practices related to federal civilian, military, and National Guard technician personnel programs. Experienced in planning for and executing all personnel programs and Human Resources Information Systems. Expert in managing Army and Air National Guard organizational structures; organizational and manpower standards; manpower resources; military grades; manpower data systems; peacetime and wartime manpower requirements and utilization; and, commercial services to include, strategic sourcing. Experienced in operational readiness planning, personnel deployments, and writing various readiness status reports. Experienced in writing, designing, formatting, publishing, or presenting military or civilian briefings for senior leadership, conferences, workshops, or special committee reporting.<br /><br /><b>Education</b><br /><br />An undergraduate degree from an accredited college or university is <strong>mandatory</strong>. A graduate degree from an accredited civilian academic college or from an equivalent professional military education school is optimum.<br /><br /><strong>You must provide transcripts or other documentation to support your Educational claims.
