<b>Job Announcement</b><br /><br />Works as part of the Zoning Permits Branch in the Zoning Administration Division. Performs technical duties related to the processing, review and approval of applications for building permits, non-residential use permits, home occupation permits, and other applications as required by the zoning ordinance. Researches and analyzes county records, maps, architectural plans, house location plats, grading and site plans. Acts as the point of contact for the general public in regards to Zoning regulations and land development processes.Maintains accurate paper and electronic records associated with the review and issuance of building permits. Candidate should have strong interpersonal, organizational, and communication skills. Ability to work independently and in a team-based environment. Maintains a working knowledge of the Zoning Ordinance and Zoning Maps.<br /><br /><b>Employment Standards</b><br /><br /><strong>MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:</strong><br />Any combination of education, experience, and training equivalent to high school graduation or a GED issued by a state department of education; and three years of non-professional planning or zoning related work, as defined by the area to which assigned.<br /><br /><strong>PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:</strong><br />College degree in planning or related field. Strong written and oral communication skills. Proficient experience using Microsoft Word and Excel.
