<b>Job Announcement</b><br /><br />The Department of Family Services (DFS) offers a wide range of community programs and services for Fairfax County residents designed to promote self-sufficiency, to protect the vulnerable, and to provide community education. Serves as a member of the logistics team performing functions including distribution of emergency resources, vehicle management, facility maintenance coordination and document management. Provides procurement support to multiple DFS locations to include office supply purchases. Manages the agency's accountable equipment inventory. Receives, monitors and approves/denies room reservation requests for multiple DFS locations. Provides technical support and training on the agency's room reservation system. Develops and maintains statistical information for procurement and equipment operations.<br /><br />This position is located in the Reston region, covering two office locations. You may be required to work at both offices, Lake Anne and Cameron Glen, in the same day. Provides coverage to other regional offices in Alexandria, Annandale and Fairfax as needed.<br /><br />Assigned functional area includes: logistics, procurement, purchasing.<br /><br /><b>Employment Standards</b><br /><br /><strong>MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:</strong><br />Any combination of education, experience and training equivalent to high school graduation and two years of experience providing administrative support in the assigned functional area(s).<br /><br />Any combination of education, experience, and training equivalent to the following: <br /> (Click on the aforementioned link to learn how Fairfax County interprets equivalencies for "Any combination, experience, and training equivalent to") <br /><br /><strong>CERTIFICATES AND LICENSES REQUIRED:</strong><br />Valid driver's license.<br /><br /><strong>NECESSARY SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS:</strong><br />The appointee to this position will be required to complete a criminal background check, driving record check, and a check of the Child Protective Services Registry to the satisfaction of the employer.<br /><br /><strong>PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:</strong><br />Experience with collecting and analyzing data and office supply purchasing and management. Proficiency in Microsoft Outlook and Excel. Excellent customer service and communication skills. Strong organizational skills; detail-oriented with the ability to establish priorities and multi-task in a fast-paced environment. Ability to work independently and exercise good judgment.<br /><br /><strong>PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:</strong><br />Ability to lift up to 20 lbs. Ability to develop and maintain working relationships with a variety of individuals. Ability to use automated technology. Ability to drive and transport vehicles to and from county garage. Clear and concise oral and written communication skills. Sufficiently mobile to move easily throughout the office.
