<b>Duties</b><br /><br /><b>Summary</b><br /><br />This position is located in the Office of Professional Responsibility and Security Operations, Personnel Security Division, Adjudications Branch in Washington, DC. The Personnel Security Division is responsible for the implementation and oversight of ATF's Personnel Security Program. The Team Lead Personnel Security Specialist (Adjudicator) partners with the Chief, Adjudications Branch in providing leadership and expert guidance relating to the Federal security clearance programs.<br /><br />Learn more about this agency <br /><br /><b>Responsibilities</b><br /><br />Serves as the primary liaison between the Branch Chief and the Adjudications Branch staff members as a subject matter expert on personnel security adjudications, policies, procedures, and guidelines based on Federal procedures and initiatives.<br /><br />Reviews adjudicators' reports of investigations, documentations and recommendations; and makes final adjudication decisions in accordance with OPM's Suitability Adjudicative Guidelines, the Adjudicative Guidelines for Determining Eligibility of Access to Classified Information, and ATF's Agency Specific Qualifications.<br /><br />Documents key investigation findings in a clear and concise manner on Adjudication Checklists, Reports of Investigation, Adjudication Worksheets, and other adjudication documents/correspondence.<br /><br />Performs a variety of analytical studies of ATF's Personnel Security Program evaluating the effectiveness in meeting goals and objectives of the office and reports the findings to the Branch Chief.<br /><br />Responsibilities will increase and assignments will become more complex as your training and experience progresses.<br /><br /><b>Travel Required</b><br /><br />Occasional travel – Will be required.<br /><br />Supervisory status <br /> No <br /><br />Promotion Potential <br /> 14 – This position is at the full performance level. <br /><br /></li> <b>Requirements</b><br /><br /><b>Conditions of Employment</b><br /><br /><ul> <li>Must be a U.S. Citizen or National.</li> <li>Suitable for Federal employment determined by background investigation.</li> <li>Must be registered or exempt from the Selective Service. Applicants who decline to sign a mobility agreement, as required, will be removed from the hiring process.<br /><br /><b>Qualifications</b><br /><br /><strong>To qualify for the GS-14: </strong>You must have at least one year of specialized experience at, or equivalent to the GS-13 Federal grade level. Specialized experience for the position is defined as experience applying knowledge of personnel security principles and practices to independently analyze and resolve complex personnel security problems, adjudicating background investigations and determining suitability in an adequate and timely manner; and utilizing skills in oral and written communication to develop technical policies and procedures and present facts to staff and management.<br /><br />Interagency Career Transition Assistance Plan (ICTAP).
