<p>Mid-size DC law firm is seeking an IT/Help Desk Manager.&nbsp; The IT Manager functions as a subject matter expert for a variety of systems used by the Firm and oversees all aspects of the Firm’s technology and telecommunications infrastructure as well as advises on the IT security of the Firm.&nbsp; The IT Manager recommends, drafts, maintains, and enforces Firm technology policies and procedures and is responsible for monitoring network activity and assessing system performance.&nbsp; The IT Manager is responsible for assisting the Firm with incident and problem resolution, and coordinates software initiatives and implementation.</p>


<li>Ensuring that systems are performing at optimal levels</li>
<li>Providing hands-on support and interfacing daily with end-users, both local and remote, to provide Help Desk support</li>
<li>Diagnosing, troubleshooting, and resolving end-user hardware and software issues</li>
<li>Resolving issues using effective problem-solving skills</li>
<li>Providing expertise and technical knowledge regarding software applications</li>
<li>Working with Managed Service Provider (MSP) and consultants to help maintain systems and services, resolve support incidents, and execute projects</li>
<li>Documenting all requests and issues reported by end-users in ticketing/tracking system</li>
<li>Research, developing, planning, organizing, evaluating, and delivering IT training materials for end-users, including user guides for software and training programs</li>
<li>Training end-users on software, supporting them to ensure competency</li>
<li>Training new employees during onboarding</li>
<li>Managing network and document management permissions as they relate to user access, including updates to email distribution lists and account changes/deletions, to ensure network integrity and security</li>
<li>Maintaining A/V and telephone systems</li>
<li>Monitoring network activity, systems, and devices</li>
<li>Notifying end-users regarding system problems, including scheduled maintenance and unscheduled downtime</li>
<li>Working with Managed Service Provider (MSP) to maintain knowledge of all Firm operating systems and applications in order to assist in the planning, testing, and implementation of Firm software systems</li>
<li>Proactively researching, evaluating, and, if appropriate, suggesting software projects that will improve Firm performance</li>
<li>Participating in technology and focus group meetings to gather feedback on applications to determine how IT can best meet end-user needs</li>
<li>Adhering to all IT policies, procedures, standards, and guidelines</li>
<li>Performing other duties as assigned by the Executive Director or Technology Committee</li>


<li>Bachelor’s degree in a related field with strong academic credentials; advanced degree or IT certifications preferred</li>
<li>At least five (5) years of IT experience; experience providing IT support in a law firm strongly preferred</li>
<li>Demonstrable experience with IT upgrades, networking, infrastructure, and project support</li>
<li>Excellent problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and the ability to prioritize projects and competing demands</li>
<li>Strong communication skills (verbal and written)</li>
<li>Strong interpersonal skills and exceptional customer service</li>
<li>Ability to think analytically, work independently, and be proactive</li>
<li>Extensive knowledge of/working experience with office computer applications such as: document management systems, Microsoft Office Suite and Office 365, Mimecast, Active Directory, Microsoft Exchange Servers, virtual desktop environments, remote access solutions, local area network (LAN) and wide area network (WAN) routing and switching, VMware, back-up and recovery solutions, GAP assessment and penetration testing, desktop and laptop image building, A/V systems, telephone systems, IT and network security protocols, VoIP messaging, data storage, virtualization, systems and network monitoring, and business continuity and disaster recovery</li>
<li>Strong understanding of information security practices and industry standards</li>
<li>Must be able to work independently and proactively, think critically, and be accountable for his/her actions</li>
<li>Excellent skills in reading, writing, and communication are required</li>
