We offer a team oriented environment comprised of military personnel, civilian employees, contractors and volunteers who keep the organization functioning smoothly and effectively.<br /> Learn more about this agency <br /><br /><b>Responsibilities</b><br /><br />Serves as the Vending Manager and is responsible for effective sales management practices within assigned program. Leads by example to: shape and sustain a working environment conducive to the successful performance of those entrusted to his/her leadership and direction; and creating a positive atmosphere and culture within Business Operations and its constituent branches that reflect the pride, professionalism, sense of accomplishment, fulfillment, collaborative engagement, well-being, and whole-hearted customer focus of its employees. Reports to the Exchange Services Program Manager<br /><br />Responsible for vending program sales goals and expenses. Supervises all direct sales and monitors indirect sales throughout the program. Coordinates with vendors on merchandise assortment to facilitate greater product availability and maximize gross margins. Regularly reviews local regulations and directives pertaining to vending operations for recommendations to changes in business processes and/or equipment to meet the needs of direct or indirect vending. May serve as a Contract Organization Representative (COR) and/or have blank purchase agreement (BPA) caller authority. Places merchandise orders based on sales demand and optimum inventory stock turns.<br /><br />Supervises employees to include: assigning and distributing work, scheduling, coaching, counseling, tutoring, and mentoring employees; approving and disapproving leave; recommending and completing personnel actions; completing performance reviews and signing timecards; training employees. Must be alert to alcohol abuse, and take appropriate action. Assists in developing and ensuring the implementation and control of an adequate, effective and appropriate training plan for all personnel.<br /><br />Takes advantage of all training opportunities to develop selling skills in product categories. Works with team members to develop their product knowledge within the category. Remains committed to learning about the brands and products that we sell within the business. Educates customers on product questions and provides suggestions when needed.<br /><br />Actively engages in organizational training opportunities that develop personal and professional skills related to: time management, emotional intelligence, interpersonal skills, career planning, public speaking and small group leadership.<br /><br />Provides World Class Customer Service with an emphasis on courtesy. Assists customers and communicates positively in a friendly manner. Takes action to solve problems quickly. Alerts the higher-level supervisor, or proper point of contact for help when problems arise. Adheres to safety regulations and standards. Promptly reports any observed workplace hazards, and any injury, occupational illness, and/or property damage resulting from workplace mishaps to the immediate supervisor. Adheres to established standards of actively supporting the principles of the EEO program and prevention of sexual harassment.<br /><br />Adheres to safety regulations and standards. OR an appropriate combination of education and experience that demonstrates possession of knowledge and skill equivalent to that gained in the above. . Strong working knowledge of business processes and controls. Some previous supervisory experience is preferred. The incumbent must be able to lift and carry objects up to 50lbs independently and objects over 50lbs with assistance. Must possess a valid state driver's license. Must possess the knowledge and skills necessary to operate a motor vehicle safely.
