Overview

Teaches, supervises, advises, and evaluates Radiologic Technology students in both the clinical and classroom environments. <br /><br />PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:<br />• Meets and instructs assigned classes, and prepares lesson plans.<br />• Develops and maintains a classroom environment conducive to effective learning.<br />• Participates in the continued development and growth of the Health and Medical Science Program in the following career preparatory areas: Radiology/Imaging Technician, Pharmacology Technician, Clinical Technician, and Laboratory Technician. <br />• Participation in student organizational program activities.<br />• Coordinates shared responsibility for co-curricular activities.<br />• Performs related work as required.<br /><br />• Holds an American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) certification.<br />• Holds a Bachelor Degree in the field of Radiology Technology.<br />• Holds or be eligible to hold a Virginia Professional Technical License in Health and Medical Science.<br />• Minimum two years of experience as a Radiology Technician.<br />• Holds current CPR healthcare provider.<br />• Immunizations to practice in the hospital setting.<br />• Possesses the ability to manage this new program. <br /><br />A person in this position reports to the Principal and/or Assistant Principal<br /><br /><strong>STATE REQUIREMENTS/QUALIFICATIONS:</strong><br />Must have or be eligible for Virginia licensure with endorsement(s) required for teaching assignment(s).<br /><br /><strong>BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:</strong><br />Knowledge of content, curriculum, methods, materials, and equipment of instructional specialty(ies) to which assigned; knowledge of pre-adolescent and adolescent growth and development; knowledge of Loudoun County Public Schools (LCPS) curriculum related to assignments and School Division mission, goals, and organization; ability to apply knowledge of current research and theory to instructional programs; skill in the use of multi-media and computer technology to enhance learning; ability to plan and implement lessons based on Division and school objectives and the needs and abilities of students to whom assigned; ability to establish and maintain effective relationships with students, peers, administrators, and parents; skill in oral and written communications; excellent human relations skills.
