<b>Duties</b><br /><br /><b>Summary</b><br /><br />You will serve as a Supervisory Construction Analyst for the Small Business Administration (SBA), Office of Disaster Assistance (ODA), Damage Verification Center – DVC in Herndon, Virginia. The DVC provides fully qualified and trained SBA Construction Analysts who respond to disaster emergencies, often within 48 hours or less, throughout the United States and its territories. Territories include, but are not limited to: American Samoa, Guam, Mariana Islands and Federated States of Micronesia.<br /> Learn more about this agency <br /><br /><b>Responsibilities</b><br /><br />As a Supervisory Construction Analyst at the GS-0828-13, some of your typical work assignments may include: <ul> <li>Planning, supervising, managing, coordinating, and evaluating Damage Verification Center (DVC) loss verifier activities for disasters occurring within the Continental United States (CONUS) and others outside the Continental United States (OCONUS) and in US Territories.</li> <li>Interviewing and recommending candidates for selection; identifying training needs and ensuring training is provided.</li> <li>Analyzing the size and scope of disasters and developing a comprehensive resource plan that includes staffing, supplies, computers, travel, and accommodations.</li> <li>Estimating the quantity of materials needed and cost for constructing or repairing homes and businesses.</li> <li>Reviewing policy issuances and determining if necessary changes will be needed and their impact on DVC operations.</li> <li>Supervising a team of Construction Analysts/Loss Verifiers.</li> </ul> IMPORTANT NOTES: <ul> <li>This is a <strong>Cadre </strong>position, which is a competitive service status position with a full-time seasonal work schedule. Although highly unlikely, depending on the level of disaster activity, you may be placed in a non-duty status if there is insufficient work.
