<b>Duties</b><br /><br /><b>Summary</b><br /><br /><strong>About the Position:</strong> Incumbent will serve as a Motor Vehicle Operator for the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Logistics Activity. Incumbent will be expected to perform a range of duties, such as operate vehicles over Federal, state, and county roads and city streets in all traffic conditions. Considerable physical effort may be required to change tires and make limited emergency repairs, such as installing an emergency fan belt or replacing an electrical fuse on open highways.<br /><br /><strong>Working Conditions:</strong> Drivers operate vehicles in all types of traffic and weather on public roads (or the equivalent), and are exposed to the danger of serious accidents. They drive in heavy traffic and at highway speeds over complicated road and interchange systems. Work is done inside or outside in areas that may be hot, damp, cold, drafty, or poorly lighted. Motor Vehicle Operators are regularly exposed to the possibility of cuts, scrapes, bruises, abrasions, falls, and injury from falling stock or mechanized work areas. When working in hazardous materials areas, they may be subject to exposure from radiation, toxins, explosive hazards, or chemical fumes.
