<p>Lead Cook</p>

<p>We are in search of an experienced Lead Cook who will report to the Kitchen Manager.<br />
The Lead Cook will prepare high quality and healthy meals for students and staff at the scheduled times. The Lead cook will also maintain a clean and safe working environment within the kitchen and cafeteria. The Lead cook is responsible for overseeing the cooks and stewards for their appropriate shifts.</p>

<p>Responsibilities:</p>

<ul>
<li>
<p>Prepare meals each day in accordance with the school’s daily menus; following the standardized recipes.</p>
</li>
<li>
<p>Check the standards of equipment and report any faults to the Food Services Director or Food Services Supervisor.</p>
</li>
<li>
<p>Receive and store all supplies in the kitchen and store rooms.</p>
</li>
<li>
<p>Check and maintain the pantry and storage areas to ensure appropriate inventory of supplies.</p>
</li>
<li>
<p>To ensure that all health and safety legislation and guidelines are implemented, adhered to and</p>

<p>reviewed regularly, in respect of kitchen production, employees, machinery, equipment, and</p>

<p>hygiene.</p>

<p>Ensures that fresh fruits, vegetables, dairy products, meats, fish, and poultry, foods, and supplies</p>

<p>are stored and rotated to maximum freshness and minimize waste.</p>
</li>
<li>
<p>Daily record all refrigerators and freezers temperature.</p>
</li>
<li>
<p>Maintain a clean and safe kitchen.</p>
</li>
<li>
<p>Assist with staff scheduling and food preparation schedules.</p>
</li>

<p>Requirements:</p>

<ul>
<li>
<p>High school diploma or equivalent with a minimum of two years of experience in the culinary arts field (cook, lead cook, or other) or the appropriate combination of education and experience</p>
</li>
<li>
<p>ServSafe certification</p>
</li>
<li>
<p>Ability to work as a team player</p>
</li>
<li>
<p>Strong interpersonal and customer service skills</p>
</li>
<li>
<p>Ability to balance multiple tasks and establish task priorities</p>
</li>
<li>
<p>Ability to perform moderately heavy manual work</p>
</li>
<li>
<p>Ability to understand and follow oral and written instructions</p>
</li>
<li>
<p>Good English communication skills (bilingual preferred)</p>
</li>
<li>
<p>Certified food handler</p>
</li>
<li>
<p>Able to demonstrate an in depth understanding of the industry</p>
</li>
<li>
