If selected for this position, you will receive formal and/or on-the-job training, as needed. Duties include: <ul> <li>Gathering and consolidating narrative information and statistical data needed for budget operations and financial reporting.</li> <li>Researching legal, regulatory, program, and budgetary information.</li> <li>Monitoring and tracking obligations and expenditures for the office.</li> <li>Verifying that obligations and expenditures occur on a timely-basis in accordance with regulatory controls.</li> <li>Providing information based on the products of the financial management system.</li> <li>Analyzing expenditure data to identify variables affecting costs.</li> <li>Preparing annual administrative budgets and operating plans.</li> <li>Providing a wide variety of budgetary reports.</li> </ul> Responsibilities will increase and assignments will become more complex as your training and experience progress. <br /><br /><b>Travel Required</b><br /><br />Not required<br /><br />Supervisory status <br /> No <br /><br />Promotion Potential <br /> 11 <br /><br /></li> <b>Requirements</b><br /><br /><b>Conditions of Employment</b><br /><br /><ul> <li>You must be a U.S. Citizen or National</li> <li>Background investigation, credit check, and drug test required</li> <li>You must be registered for Selective Service, if applicable</li> <li>If selected, you may be required to complete a one year probationary period.</li> <li>Time-in-Grade: Federal employees must meet time-in-grade requirements within 30 days after the closing date of this announcement.</li> <li>You must meet all qualification requirements within 30 days after the closing date of this announcement and before placement in the position.</li> </ul> <br /><br /><b>Qualifications</b><br /><br /><strong>Specialized Experience</strong>: One full year of specialized experience equivalent to the <strong>GS-7</strong> level. Specialized experience is defined as experience performing budget or financial management work which demonstrates knowledge of budget and finance principles, practices and methods to perform budget execution, formulation, financial reporting, and internal control functions. Examples of specialized experience include gathering statistical data needed for financial reporting, reviewing the accuracy of budget and program data, monitoring obligations and expenditures, and compiling budget requests.<br /><br /><strong>Education</strong>: One of the following types of education in a closely related field (e.g., Accounting, Financial Management, Public Administration, Business Administration): a Master's or equivalent graduate degree (such as an LL.B.); OR 2 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree.<br /><br /><strong>Combining Education and Experience</strong>: Combinations of successfully completed graduate education and experience may be used to meet total qualification requirements. In order to qualify based on a combination, graduate education must be in excess of 1 full year.<br /><br /><strong> Interagency Career Transition Assistance Plan (ICTAP)- </strong> The ICTAP provides eligible displaced Federal competitive service employees with selection priority over other candidates for competitive service vacancies.
