For more information see: http: www.nro.gov <br /><br /><b>NRO is accepting applications from both </b><strong> U.S. Citizens & </strong><b>Federal government employees for this position </b><br /><br /><b>FOR CURRENT CIVILIAN FEDERAL EMPLOYEES APPLYING PLEASE SEE THE QUALIFICATIONS SECTION BELOW</b> <br /><br />Learn more about this agency <br /><br /><b>Responsibilities</b><br /><br />As a SECURITY SPECIALIST you will be responsible for the following duties: <ul> <li>Serves as a Program Security Officer (PSO) within the National Reconnaissance Office (NRO) Office of Security & Counterintelligence (OS&CI). </li> <li>Provides security support services to the senior leadership team within the NRO D&O, to include a mixture of senior leaders, i.e., Directors of Directorate or Office, Senior Executive services (SES) managers, Senior Intelligence Services (SIS) managers, GS/GG-15 managers, and senior Military officers. </li> <li>Implements and ensures compliance with Intelligence Community (IC) policies and directives instrumental in classifying and protecting classified systems, national defense, and other sensitive information originated or controlled by NRO government and contract facilities, and associated personnel. </li> <li>Coordinates the submission of candidates for access to Sensitive Compartmented Information -SCI. </li> <li>Works with Personnel Security Division on adverse information reporting and attends Adjudication Boards as the Program Security Representative. </li> <li>Performs Industrial Contract Management activities, which includes but are not limited to classification contract strategic planning involving the Program Manager Contracting Officers Technical Representative (PM/COTR), initial contract review, generation of security documentation (DD254s/CDCWs/Security CDRLs), contract source selection activity, and award fee security support. </li> <li>Performs Industrial Facility Management activities with Contractor PSOs, which include but are not limited to annual site visits and site assessments. </li> <li>Reviews and coordinates requests for co-utilization of SCIFs and Joint-utilization of IT systems. </li> <li>Oversees Physical and Automated Information Systems Security activity. </li> <li>Designs and directs comprehensive evaluations where boundaries are extremely broad and complex.</li> <li>Acts as overall Security Lead for facility security assessments of contractor facilities to determine their ability to manage and secure classified sensitive information, including information generated or stored in Automated Information Systems (AISs), and for the accreditation of automated information systems and sites where SCI is processed electronically. </li> <li>Assists contractor personnel in the development of security procedures. </li> <li>Reviews CONOPS, SOPs/SSPs and OPSEC plans, develops Classification Guides and Program Protection Plans and ensures that the documents accurately reflect all classifications, document markings, and classified material safeguards. </li> <li>Keeps Senior Security Leadership and Program Management apprised of any security issues that may affect mission success</li> </ul> <br /><br /><b>Travel Required</b><br /><br />Occasional travel – May be required to travel in military or commercial aircraft to perform temporary duty<br /><br />Supervisory status <br /> No <br /><br />Promotion Potential <br /> 13 <br /><br /></li> <b>Requirements</b><br /><br /><b>Conditions of Employment</b><br /><br /><ul> <li>Must be a US citizen</li> <li>Male born after 12-31-59 must be registered for Selective Service http: www.sss.gov</li> <li>Resume and supporting documents received by 11:59PM EST will be considered</li> <li>This is a Drug Testing designated position</li> <li>Position is a (DCIPS) position in the Excepted Service under U.S.C. 1601</li> <li>Must obtain/maintain Critical Sensitive TS/SCI clearance w/polygraph</li> <li>WORK SCHEDULE: Full Time</li> <li>OVERTIME: Occasionally</li> <li>TOUR OF DUTY: Flexible</li> <li>PCS (Permanent Change of Station): Not Authorized.</li> <li>FAIR LABOR STANDARDS ACT (FLSA): Exempt</li> <li>FINANCIAL DISCLOSURE: Required</li> <li>TELEWORK ELIGIBILITY: This position is NOT telework eligible</li> <li>SELECTIVE SERVICE REQUIREMENT: For more information please visit: https: www.sss.gov/</li> </ul> <br /><br /><b>Qualifications</b><br /><br /><b>FOR CURRENT FEDERAL CIVILIAN EMPLOYEES APPLYING: </b><br /><br /><strong>This position is a Senior Level DCIPS position. </strong><b>DCIPS</b><strong> Senior Level positions include </strong><b>GG-</b><strong>13.
