<b>Duties</b><br /><br /><b>Summary</b><br /><br />The Office of the Assistant Secretary for Financial Resources advises the Secretary of Health and Human Services on all aspects of budget, grants, financial management, and acquisitions and directs these activities across the Department. Serves as an advisor to the Secretary on all policy issues. Works with the Congress and Office of Management and Budget (OMB) on the Department's budget requests and initiatives, and serves as Health and Human Services liaison to the Appropriations Committees. <br /> Learn more about this agency <br /><br /><b>Responsibilities</b><br /><br />As Deputy Assistant Secretary for Operations and Management, the incumbent provides executive advisory service to the Assistant Secretary for Financial Resources in the executive direction of a staff responsible for resource planning, automated management information systems, financial management, and administrative management activities.<br /><br />While a primary focus of the incumbent is management and administrative operations, His/her expertise, advice, and counsel are also sought for all programs and their impact on the strategic plan and objectives of the Assistant Secretary for Financial Resources and the subsequent offices.
