<p><strong>DUTIES</strong>: University of Maryland College Park – Manager of Human Resources&nbsp;&nbsp;shall oversee all human resource initiatives/programs payroll and benefts) for&nbsp;&nbsp;the Department s) of Chemical &amp; Biomolecular Engineering, Materials Science &amp;&nbsp;&nbsp;Engineering and Fire Protection Engineering. Incumbent will manage the human&nbsp;&nbsp;resource processes – new employee orientation/onboarding for all employees,&nbsp;&nbsp;guidance on job description development /posting/hiring processes for all categories, performance review, and other personnel processes.&nbsp;&nbsp;Primary department liaison with the University’s Ofice of International Student &amp;&nbsp;&nbsp;Scholar Services ISSS) for non-US citizen hires; processes J-(, H(-B visa&nbsp;&nbsp;applications, and manages paperwork for permanent resident applicants, F-(Visas and all other applicable visas with work authorization; ensures all visitor&nbsp;&nbsp;export control requests are completed. Oversee the creation, monitoring and<br />
tracking of the department’s faculty, staf, GRA/TA and student appointments,<br />
ensuring Department and University policies and procedures are followed. Work&nbsp;&nbsp;in conjunction with the Graduate Ofice for incoming Graduate students,&nbsp;&nbsp;assistantships, fellowships, etc. Oversee the creation and maintenance of faculty&nbsp;&nbsp;contracts to ensure timeliness and compliance to State regulations. Additionally,&nbsp;&nbsp;this position will create and maintain database systems to streamline personnel&nbsp;&nbsp;and human resource processes where applicable.</p>

<p><strong>QUALIFICATIONS</strong>: Education — B.S. or B. A. as a minimum from an accredited&nbsp;&nbsp;institution is required. Five or more years of progressive experience i.e.,&nbsp;&nbsp;combination of payroll and human resource applications and management, in a&nbsp;&nbsp;higher education environment. Years of experience should include (-1 years of&nbsp;&nbsp;supervisory experience. Working knowledge of VISA regulations for programs&nbsp;&nbsp;including J, F and/or H(B. Must be able to manage high volume workload, ability&nbsp;&nbsp;to apply basic mathematical computations, excellent working knowledge of&nbsp;&nbsp;Microsoft Word and Excel, strong over-all computer &amp; communication skills as&nbsp;&nbsp;well as, customer service skills/customer service focus. Excellent attention to&nbsp;&nbsp;detail, and the ability to prioritize and multi-task within deadlines in a&nbsp;&nbsp;challenging, fast-paced environment and strong computer skills. Must have&nbsp;&nbsp;experience working with electronic payroll and human resource systems.</p>
