All initial attorney positions to the Department of Justice are made on a 14-month (temporary) basis.
The successful candidate will also prosecute Civil Rights and Human Trafficking cases in the Northern and Western Districts of Oklahoma. Prior criminal prosecution experience is preferred. Assistant United States Attorneys are responsible for legal research and writing, directing investigations, case development, and case presentation in criminal cases. To be an effective federal prosecutor, the AUSA must possess excellent communication and organizational skills and the ability to work closely with federal, state, local and tribal law enforcement agencies.
Responsibilities will increase and assignments will become more complex as your training and experience progress.
Occasional travel – Travel to the Northern and Western Districts of Oklahoma is required.
