<b>Duties</b><br /><br /><b>Summary</b><br /><br />This position is located in the Executive Office, Bureau of Human Resources (HR), U.S. the Department of State. The Office director is providing executive level support in Department-wide projects and operations.<br /><br />Learn more about this agency <br /><br /><b>Responsibilities</b><br /><br />The Office Director (Chief Technology Officer) is responsible for developing, operating, and maintaining IT systems to ensure efficient receipt, processing, and dissemination of HR data. The CTO plans, directs, and evaluates the work of the HR IT professional staff and oversees programs involving IT system capability.<br /><br />Furthermore, the CTO is also responsible for the overall planning, direction, and timely execution of the HR IT programs, including strategic planning, program management, technology insertion, IT operations, and IT Systems security. Each of these functions is managed through separate subordinate organizational units or comparable staff elements.<br /><br />The Chief Technology Officer manages an operating budget of nearly $40 million and prepares and defends all bureau information technology budgetary requests in compliance with Department and Congressional requirements. I have demonstrated experience in executive direction, management and oversight of IT strategic planning, including envisioning, leading, and implementing IT and communications technology innovation, ensuring adherence and responsiveness to U.S. Government regulations and guidance related to IT acquisition, and managing and implementing acquisitions plans and budgets.</strong><br /><br /><strong>2.
