<b>Duties</b><br /><br /><b>Summary</b><br /><br /><strong>This is a Direct Hire Solicitation under the STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics) authority.<br /><br />About the Position: </strong>Work is entirely in an office setting. The work is directly done with architects to prepare design drawings in REVIT. Work requires extensive use of digital technology such as computers, printers, and scanners. Position also works with software used for document management and storage. Frequently work products must be prepared with short deadlines.<br /> Learn more about this agency <br /><br /><b>Responsibilities</b><br /><br /><ul> <li>Assist Architects in Engineering with designs for a wide range of project types including but not limited to maintenance, repair, demolition, and construction projects.</li> <li>Prepare complete preliminary Computer Aided Design and Drafting (CADD) design drawings and final Computer Aided Design (CAD) design drawings for these engineering projects.</li> <li>Review both as-built and completed design Computer Aided Design (CAD) files for compliance with CAD standards, quality, accuracy, and conditions associated with projects before entering the information into the data base.</li> <li>Maintain a thorough knowledge of Computer Aided Design (CAD) operational and software capabilities and CAD standardization policies and guidelines.</li> </ul> <br /><br /><b>Travel Required</b><br /><br />25% or less – The business travel requirement is 15%.<br /><br />Supervisory status <br /> No <br /><br />Promotion Potential <br /> 11 <br /><br /></li> <b>Requirements</b><br /><br /><b>Conditions of Employment</b><br /><br /><ul> <li>Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.</li> </ul> <br /><br /><b>Qualifications</b><br /><br /><strong>Who May Apply: US Citizens</strong><br /><br />In order to qualify, you must meet the experience requirements described below. Additional information about transcripts is in this document .<br /><br />Specialized Experience:<br /><br />GS-07<br /> One year of specialized experience which includes assisting Architects in Engineering with designs for a wide range of project types such as maintenance, repair, demolition, or construction projects; and preparing parts of the complete preliminary Computer Aided Design and Drafting (CAD) REVIT design drawings and final CAD design drawings for engineering projects. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-06).<br /><br />GS-08<br /> One year of specialized experience which includes assisting Architects in Engineering with designs for a wide range of project types such as maintenance, repair, demolition, or construction projects; and preparing complete preliminary Computer Aided Design and Drafting (CAD) REVIT design drawings and final CAD design drawings for engineering projects. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-07).<br /><br />GS-09<br /> One year of specialized experience which includes assisting Architects in Engineering with designs for a wide range of project types such as maintenance, repair, demolition, or construction projects; preparing complete preliminary Computer Aided Design and Drafting (CAD) REVIT design drawings and final CAD design drawings for engineering projects; and completing assignments that are non-routine in nature and require coordination with work performed by other engineering disciplines. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-08).<br /><br />GS-10<br /> One year of specialized experience which includes assisting Architects in Engineering with designs for a wide range of project types such as maintenance, repair, demolition, or construction projects; preparing complete preliminary Computer Aided Design and Drafting (CAD) REVIT design drawings and final CAD design drawings for engineering projects; completing assignments that are non-routine in nature and require coordination with work performed by other engineering disciplines; and independently plans and executes complete CAD drawings for projects. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-09).<br /><br />GS-11<br /> One year of specialized experience which includes assisting Architects in Engineering with designs for a wide range of project types such as maintenance, repair, demolition, or construction projects; preparing complete preliminary Computer Aided Design and Drafting (CAD) REVIT design drawings and final CAD design drawings for engineering projects; completing assignments that are non-routine in nature and require coordination with work performed by other engineering disciplines; independently plans and executes complete CAD drawings for projects; and planning or conducting work on a portion of projects to aide in overall project completion. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-10).<br /><br />Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify.
