The Needs Assessment Clinician:
Evaluates patients presenting in the ER for admissions or Needs Assessment Center for mental health evaluations. Provide telephonic support to the needs assessment center by triaging telephone calls, scheduling intake appointments and providing resources to callers. Facilitate hospital to hospital transfers and obtain pre-authorizations. Verify insurance for incoming patients. Obtain initial insurance authorization for patients who are admitted to ABH.
Qualified candidates will possess:
Knowledgeable in behavioral health and medical terminology
Knowledge of DSM V criteria and clinical terminology
Ability to work independently
Demonstrate efficient use of time management and sound organizational skills
Must demonstrate excellent customer service and communication skills
Able to maintain composure in stressful situations
Must be self-directed and flexible
Exceptional interpersonal skills and ability to display a caring demeanor
Exhibit sound problem solving skills
Knowledge of patient confidentiality
Knowledge of patient rights and laws pertaining to behavioral health
Ability to interface and effectively communicate clinical information to physicians and other disciplines
Ability to deal with crisis and potentially,combative patients while maintaining personal and emotional equilibrium.
Tobacco use is a well-recognized preventable cause of death in the United States and an important public health issue. In order to promote and maintain a healthy work environment, Adventist HealthCare will not hire applicants for employment who either state that they are nicotine users or who test positive for nicotine use.
